It comprises 10 colleges: the College of Engineering and Science, College of Business, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Information and Electrical Engineering, College of Construction and Development, School of Management Development, College of Finance, International School of Technology and Management, School of Architecture, and iSchool. The total number of students attending the university exceeds 20,000. As of academic year 2022, 21,441 students were enrolled at FCU (including 18,176 undergraduates and 3,265 graduate/doctoral students), with more than 2,000 faculty members and administrative staffs. FCU also has local and international alumni chapters. In addition, FCU has more than 190,000 alumni serving worldwide in diverse fields of enterprises and government departments. FCU alumni have given back to their alma mater, providing networking opportunities to FCU students and graduates.
The university showcases a prominent teaching performance. It has been evaluated as being among the top three private universities in Taiwan in terms of four facets: the number of Ministry of Education Teaching Practice Research Projects granted, which reflects faculty members’ teaching optimization; the number of undergraduate research projects granted by the National Science and Technology Council; the number of students enrolled in dual degrees overseas; and the number of overseas cooperative schools for dual degrees. Moreover, the university ranks first among private universities in Taiwan in terms of the total monetary amount of industry–academia cooperation. Hence, enterprises ranked FCU as their favorite university that fosters employable high-quality undergraduates. Other prominent records in recent years are as follows:

Introduction to College of Business and Finance [See 1.A.2.1]

The College of Business and Finance has a total of 15 undergraduate programs, 13 master's programs, and 2 doctoral programs in 2023.

The College of Business was established in 1976 and offers a total of 12 undergraduate program, 11 master's programs, and 1 doctoral program. In addition, the College of Business has 14 research centers that provide academic services to faculty and students. In response to the trend toward internationalization, the college established the RMIT-FCU 2+2 Bachelor’s Program in Business and Innovation and the SJSU-FCU 2+2 Bachelor’s Program in Business Analytics. All courses in these programs are taught in English to cultivate students’ English communication skills, and all programs faculty members were all supported by the College of Business.

To integrate the specialized fields of finance and insurance, the College of Finance was separated from the College of Business in 2007. As the only professional college of finance in Taiwan, the COF includes the Department of Finance, the Department of Risk Management and Insurance and Bachelor’s Program of Financial Engineering and Actuarial Science. The college aims to cultivate well-trained professionals in finance and insurance and provide college instructors in Central Taiwan with a great option for advanced study. The current dean of the College of Finance is a professor in the Department of Public Finance in the College of Business. In 2013, the Department of Statistics in the College of Business merged their faculty with the Department of Finance to establish the Bachelor’s Program of Financial Engineering and Actuarial Science.

Although the administrative processes of the College of Finance are separate from those of the College of Business, there are strong connections between the two colleges. First, all fundamental courses are coordinated by both colleges, and instructors are able to be interchanged. Second, faculty from both colleges co-organize an annual Business Data Decision Analysis Competition for freshman and sophomore students taking fundamental courses. Faculty members from both colleges are devoted to this competition and mentor teams. Third, members for the faculty qualifications committee and assurance of learning committee are drawn from both colleges. Based on these reasons, we are applying for AACSB accreditation under the name “College of Business and Finance.”

The College of Business and Finance consistently maintains external accreditation, which further substantiates the quality of education provided by its programs. It was first accredited by AACSB in 2013 and received continuous improvement accreditation in 2018. In addition to AACSB accreditation, the college has been awarded the Best Choice in Eduniversal’s rankings of the world’s best business colleges for four consecutive years, from 2019 to 2022.
